Learn from the canines..

Today i was browsing through the Star newspapers and i came across this article : I was truly touched by this event... heres a closer view of the title :

It happened in NZ, where 2 pitbulls were about to attack 5 young children, and yes, it was this Jack Russel Terrier that came to the rescue. It was much smaller in size compared to the pair of attackers, yet it stood up bravely, and fought to protect the lives of these children that were at stake. This dog was named George. It successfully saved the lives of all these children, but it was mauled by the attackers so badly it was to be put to sleep by the vet. A pyrrhic victory in the end..
That led me thinking, a dog could show so much bravery in saving a few kids that it usually just played with. it was willing to do it despite the ultimate sacrifice - death. Most importantly, the kids were not even its owner that fed him.
Could humans ever do this for one another? Of course there are many people in this world that would and be willing to do this, but needless to say to be able to protect the lives of others, most importantly, not harm others.
In the world we live in today, countless events of robbery, theft, murder, rape, speeding etc cases that take the lives of our kind are happening. The number of these cases are still significantly rising day by day. We live in a world that is no longer safe.. A night out having supper with friends could well turn into a tragic ending. These are all caused by the deeds of mankind which is truly heart breaking, i dread the day that this would happen to one of my friends and family. The thought of losing anyone of them is simply too much for me to take.
So please, the next time be4 u do something such as speeding that could harm the lives of others, think twice, or even thrice be4 commiting to it.
And heres a picture of our hero, George :
